Today is the day that we have been waiting a very long time for! The answer we have been waiting for... Is it a boy or a girl????
But first, WE ARE 19 WEEKS TODAY!
The baby is now about 9 inches (22 cm)and weights around 9 ounces (250 grams)!
It's skin is wrinkled and it still has no subcutaneous fat but it is slowly losing it's reddish skin color. It is getting more hair on it's head. It can also observe sounds now such as the heartbeat and bowel movements of mommy. But it reacts to sounds from outside also. Some studies have shown that babies in the uterus are calmed by listening to music such as Mozart or Vivaldi, so mommy downloaded some classical music and bought new headphones today! From now on it will also recognize mommy's voice. If Jon speaks directly to my stomach, the baby will hear and recognize his voice too!
THE ULTRASOUND...
We had our appointment today and the baby is...
Shy just like mommy! Looks like our little munchkin was laying on it's belly with it's arms and legs tucked up, so we didn't get to see too much. We saw the back and the back of the head and a little forearm popped up out of the blue! It was still an amazing experience. We go back for try number 2 on January 4, hopefully we'll have better luck the second time around. It was great to share our babies first "picture" with Jonathan.
