Dazed & Confused
Today was my last day of work. As I drove away I couldn’t help but look in my rearview mirror thinking “I am not going back there for a year!” How weird is that concept? The feeling was kind of bitter sweet. I am extremely excited for the adventure our lives are about to take, but I can’t help feeling sad about the chapter of my life that is closing. The I have been so lucky to meet so many great people and make so many friends at work. They have become an additional family to me and it is sad to think that I will not be seeing them everyday.
Week 38 Doctors Appointment
Wednesday was my 38 week doctors appointment with my OBGYN. My weigh has climbed yet again., I am now… brace yourself… 195 lbs. Yes, that’s right, for those counting it is officially 60 lbs. That I have packed on! What are the odds of my having a 50 lbs. baby? Ha ha ha. I also found out that I tested positive on the strep test that was done two weeks ago. Apparently when I go into labour I will have to be given antibiotics, but other than that I shouldn’t worry about anything. The doctor says the baby and I are both healthy and to “keep doing what I am doing”.
Me and This Belly
I can’t believe I am due in 10 days. Of course I know that it could be sooner, or later but the fact that this month sometime I will finally meet our son gives me butterflies. Last night the Braxton Hicks contractions started again. After work I had a nap and I am noticing a lot more aches and pains in my pelvic area. I assume this is making room for the babies head to travel through. My gut tells my that the baby will be making his debut sooner than later. That being said, this is my first time going through this so I have nothing to compare it to. I just keep doing the math, my last menstrual cycle, my original due date… these all point to a due date of around May 15 NOT the 18th due date my doctor changed it to. So we will see, let the waiting game officially begin.
On a random note, this morning I notice Jonathans finger prints on my belly, I guess he held my belly so long overnight that I actually got little red marks (kind of like the ones your sheets can make on your body). I thought that was a cute story to share, what a loving daddy already.
