As usual it has taken me a bit of time to post another blog. I thought it would be good to write before we head to Edmonton Saturday! As I am writing this Ethan is pulling everything he can reach off the shelf behind me - no rest for the wicked!
Ethan is a very independent little boy, he has started to eat by himself, below is the aftermath of his Kraft Dinner lunch...

Cutting Teeth
We have had an eventful couple of days, last Friday, March 20, Ethan cut his 5th tooth. Now he has two on top and three on the bottom! So exciting, Jonathan said he can see a new one wanting to come out on the top too! Friday was also a bad day. Our poor baby started with the runs in the afternoon, at first I wrote it off as teething, but he continued to have 5 or 6 bowl movements that day. I called the pharmacy and they suggested Pedialyte for keep him hydrated. Jonathan went out and bought grape and fruit flavours, none of which Ethan would drink, so he went out again at about 8:30pm and brought the clear "regular" flavour and some of the Pedialyte Popsicle.. and Ethan still had no interest. Sunday my concern about dehydration increased so we brought him to a walk in clinic, the doctor said he has no signs of a virus and said it must be something he ate. Luckily by Sunday it seemed to have run its course, poor pumpkin!
Daddy and Ethan having a snack.

He has discovered the surround sound button, and he knows how to use it!

Walking...
Ethan took his first step on Wednesday March 25! I had just finished feeding Ethan a very messy lunch. I had taken his t-shirt off and stood him on the floor to get a better look at his pants (to see if they needed to be replaced as well). He stood there on his own, as he commonly does, so I decided to coax him in my direction "Ethan, come see mommy..." but he fell of his bum. I stood him up and urged again "Come see mommy" with my arms reaching to him about a foot away, he looked at me with a smile and took his first step in my direction and then landed on his bum. I was so excited I called Jonathan right away. Then after Jon got home from work he was playing with Ethan, who was walking around holding onto furniture when he let go and took TWO steps towards Jonathan (of course mommy was out of the room - but at least daddy had his own experience). I don't think it will be much longer before he walks independently!
Loves mommy's lipstick!

"Help Dad, Mom covered me with laundry!"

Hide and Seek
I like to think that I am a pretty good mother, ok I hate to toot my own horn here, but I am a very wonderful mom! Ha ha ha! Or at least I thought I was, until I lost Ethan... in our apartment... I was at the computer and Ethan was roaming around the apartment, which he does daily. I could hear him playing with the spring on the door stopper behind the front door. I wrapped up what I was doing on the computer and got up to grab him, I walked around the corner and he wasn't there! I looked down the hall and saw the bathroom and Ethan's room doors wer open and our room door was closed. I ran to the bathroom, where Ethan tries to play with the dogs water bowl, but he wasn't there. I looked in his room and he wasn't there either. All o a sudden our two bedroom apartment felt so huge. I ran into the living room calling his name, wondering if I had just walked pasted him, still no Ethan, then it occurred to me... "was our bedroom door closed before?" I opened our bedroom door and discovered he had gotten onto the laundry basket and was inches away from getting his little hands into the garbage. I was glad to see that he didn't get into too much trouble, those 2 minutes seemed like an eternity. Can't take your eyes off him for a minute. By the way, I still know I am a good mom :)
Ethan hates wearing his hat, this is a picture of him after he tried to take it off.
