7 Months For One More Week!

What a wonderful life we have with our little man.
Ethan will be 8 months old next week and I still look at him and cannot believe I am a mom and he is our little boy, we created him! Amazing!

Ethan is all over the place this past week, although he isn't crawling yet he manages to move all over the living room. He is even starting to get into things he shouldn't, like pulling the DVDs off the shelf! And he knows the word "no", when he hears it he responds with a cute little smile, pauses a moment and then picks up where he left off, whether it's pulling DVDs off the shelf, taking my glasses off my face or trying to get through the "wall" I build with his interlocking tiles to keep him out of the kitchen, he's gonna be TROUBLE that boy, I can see it already. Right now it's entertaining, we love to see what he'll do next.

Ethan has also (finally) been sleeping in his crib successfully for a bit over a week! I am still up anywhere from 3-8 times in a night!!! He hasn't learned how to fall asleep on his own, after a couple taps on his back he falls right back to sleep. It's all work in progress. We are learning it all together.

Over the Christmas holidays I also let Ethan have little pieces of a couple thing I was eating, he gets a kick out of eating what mommy is eating.

8 months next week... I can't believe it.

Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009

2008 seemed to fly by. We have so much to be grateful for, especially our beautiful, healthy baby boy! We have had a great year, 2008 marked my 5th-9th of pregnancy. We were blessed to have so many friends and family shower us with gifts for the little bundle of joy we were expecting. I think that the birth of this baby drew all of our families closer together. On May 13th, 2008 at 5:12pm Ethan William Alexander Solomon blessed us with his entrance into this world. Until that day I never knew how much love you could have for one human being. I have never been more overjoyed than that moment I saw my baby boy for the first time, who knew you could fall in love so hard so fast. The events of that day will always be embedded into my mind and my heart.
Since his birth we have celebrated many “first” with our son, from his first hiccup to his first teeth just the other week. We continue to see him progress day after day. I feel so blessed to be a mom. It has it’s ups and downs, and by all means it is not always easy, but when you look into his smiling face, it makes every moment worth it.

2008 also makes the year Jonathan and I FINALLY set a wedding date, after a 10 year relationship! We are proud to announce (to those who don’t know) that we are getting married Saturday September 5, 2009, in Blind River.

On behalf of our little family, we would like to thank everyone that reads our blog, I don’t always have time to write, but knowing you are reading this write now makes it worth it to me. Thank you to everyone that helped us prepare for the arrival and continue to this day to lend your support emotionally, financially and are always there when we need you.

I have included a few of my favourite Ethan pictures of 2008!
