Playing Catch-up
It has been awhile since I have had the time to write a new blog. Most of you know that Ethan and I were back home visiting in Blind River and Iron Bridge February 3-13. Since my last blog so much has happened.

Ethan is getting into everything lately, the other day I left him a lone for two minutes and came back to find him eating toilet paper!

This little munchkin loves his reflection. Daddy and I took out a mirror to play with and boy did we get a cute response. Ethan loves his reflection so much he kissed himself!

This is a picture of the boys watching the Super Bowl. Go Steelers!

Road Trip!

February 3 Ethan and I got a ride to Blind River with Uncle Shawn. Ethan was so good in the truck! He made strange with Uncle Shawn when he first saw him but after that everything was peachy. The entire 6 hour drive Ethan only slept for 30 minutes! The rest of the time he kept mommy busy playing “peek-a-boo”, watching his Baby Einstein DVD’s and playing other games. It was a good trip.

We stayed at Aunt Kelly’s house. Ethan enjoyed all the new found space to discover. And boy did he discover! Mischief is His middle name. He wanted everything he could get his hands on, and with some encouraging from Uncle Shawn, Ethan started a new fascination with cupboard doors, chandeliers and light switches, no wonder Uncle Shwan is his favourite. I tested this theory one morning. Ethan was laying on Aunt Kelly’s bed and I said “Uncle Shawn, Uncle Shawn, Uncle Shawn” and he started waving his arms and smiling, then I said “Auntie Kelly, Auntie Kelly, Auntie Kelly” and he stopped. It was so funny.

You can’t take your eyes off of him now, he almost pulled the lamp off the table!
Look at the little evil glare...

He even stood up without holding onto anything! He picked up his cookie package off the table and stood there holding it with both hands looking at it before he lost his balance and landed on his bum. Oh, I almost forgot about the “swing incident”, we had him in the swing and he decided he wanted to grab the support bar and jerked himself to a stop, that was the end of the swing!

We also discovered that Ethan doesn’t share well. Ethan’s friend Lily came to Aunt Kelly’s, every toy that she would play with Ethan would pull out of her hands! What a little turkey!

We spent a lot of time visiting all of our family. We spent time at Grandpa and Grandma Solomon’s house where Ethan played with his buddy KC the cat.

He also had his first timbit with Grandma (she spoils him!)

And mommy had a first too, Grandpa and Grandma were the first ones mommy left Ethan with! Memere came over for a visit at Aunt Kelly’s house and had lots of fun playing with Ethan. She even brought a big stuffed puppy from Uncle Nathan.

We went to Iron Bridge and visited with Auntie Tania, Uncle Rick, Richard, Aunt Nancy, Uncle Jason, Tristin, Bryce and Papa Lessard. Ethan made strange with Uncle Rick, once he got comfortable he even let his big cousin Richard hold him.

We missed out of visiting with Ethan’s other big cousin Keith so Ethan and I invited Richard and Keith out to lunch later in the week. We had a lovely visit with everyone and on the way out of town I brought Ethan to “Great Grandma Lessard’s Hill” too see all the deer, I used to love watching all the deer when I’d visit my Grandma’s house, it is nice to be able to share these moments with our son.

On Friday Februray 13 we headed back to Oakville. Grandpa and Grandma Solomon gave us ride, the 13th was also Ethan’s 9 month birthday! I can’t believe it’s already 9 months!

Our 9 Month Old is Growing Up Fast
In the last week Ethan has already started a few more “firsts”. We decided it was finally time to move Ethan into his “big boy” car seat. I didn’t realize how much IO loved the bucket seat until we didn’t have it anymore, it is so much more work now that the car seat stays in the car! And it is a whole new world for Ethan to get comfortable in again, needless to say he doesn’t like the new chair and the car rides are not as pleasant as they used to be!

This week we got rid of Ethan’s bath ease as well. He is more than ready to sit on his own in the big boy tub ) on a bath mat to avoid slippage of course). He is so independent, now we have to be acre of him standing in the tub!

Ethan has two new teeth coming in, this time I can see them, no surprises. Soon he’ll have too top front teeth!

He has also decided that he doesn’t like baby food anymore, so on to table food! I can’t believe he is eating what we eat. This morning he had a baby Fraley cookie (a cereal cookie) and some banana, and some milk. For lunch he had pasta with sauce and a “bear paw” (cookie) with some milk. He can really eat anything, he’s had pork chop, chicken, veggies etc. I guess that’s the end of baby food.

Another “new thing” that mommy isn’t so excited about… after more than 3 months of going to the gym, Ethan started to make strange with the lady at the daycare, which means mommy doesn’t get to workout. We are working on making this better, can’t give up.

Now to end this on a good note, this morning when I went to get Ethan from his morning nap, I walked into his room to see him standing in his crib and he began to jump at the sight of me, it was heart warming to get that kind of response, and exciting to see that he has learned to jump in his bed… I wonder how long it will take for me to start giving him trouble for jumping on his bed? Didn’t we all get in trouble for that when we were young?

I had to include this picture of Ethan with a piece of cookie stuck to his forehead!
