Mom's Little Monkey

Being a mom has been the most rewarding thing I have every experienced. I have never been so proud, in love, full of joy or fulfilled ever. The thought that Ethan will be 1 year old in less than 2 weeks weighs heavily on me. It is bitter sweet. It is an exciting event, our baby will be 1! The last year was the most eventful year this little boy will ever experience, from his first breath, first roll, first solid foods to his first steps and so much more. I can’t help but smile ear to ear when I think back on the last year. I can’t believe how much he is still changing. He is a funny little character.

Ethan loves bath time, and his latest little “trick” is to take the cup I use to rinse his hair, fill it up with water and try to drink it! What a little stinker, he thinks this is the funniest thing ever!

We have been having some amazing weather here. We brought Ethan for a walk to the park. We played on the swing and even went down the slide, he had so much fun. Later that day we went and got Ethan some shorts, size 3 sandals, a new hat and some sunscreen, we even got him his first swim shorts, I can’t wait to bring him swimming!

This week Jonathan caught Ethan picking his nose! I can’t believe we have a nose picker ha ha ha.. I don’t think be knows what he is doing, I think it is just a new place he found do put his finger. It is actually funny to see, of course being his mom, everything is cute to me, although I have only seen him do it once, daddy seems to catch him all the time.

Ethan is a walkin’! Just when I was starting to think that he had lost interest in walking all together, he starts walking! Out of the blue the other day he decided to talk and he hasn’t stopped! He still crawls about 60% of the time, but he is very confident walking, he has even figured out how to shift his weight to regain his balance is he starts to wobble.

We are still waiting on the 8th tooth, it is almost there, just hasn’t broken through! But that doesn’t stop him from eating everything! He eats what we eat. Tonight we had pizza and I cut up an entire slice for Ethan and he almost ate the entire thing! He is getting so big!

The funniest thing happened this afternoon. Ethan and I were sitting on the couch watching tv, I gave him two cookies and I had two, one on my lap and one I was eating. When I grabbed my second cookie to eat, I noticed it was half eaten, and soggy! The little stinker stole me full cookie and replaced it with his half eaten one!

The best thing ever is watching him play, he dances to the music on the commercials, theme songs, anything with a beat, it melts my heart. Recently he started making car sound effects! When he plays with his toy cars you can hear him making a “ggrrrrr” noise, it is truly priceless.

He even gives kisses when I ask for one, I just love it!

I love being a mom! I love being Ethan’s mommy!
