A New Routine
We have all been adjusting to our new routine. To be a fly on the wall at our place in the mornings... I bet it would be pretty funny. After work I pick Ethan up and we come home and play, when daddy gets home we have supper and then Ethan and I go for a walk. When we get home it's bath time and then we snuggle on the couch with a bottle until bedtime at 8:00pm. You would think this would be when the 'free time' would kick in... but then I have to wash bottles and get Ethan's lunch ready and lay out his clothes for the next day, by the time i am done everything i am so wiped out and head for bed, just to start all over again the next morning.
Playing with mommy's purse.. too cute!

This picture was just so cute I had to put it up.

Ethan seems to love mommy's high heels...

Mommy's boy!

He loves cars!

Rufus is not a big fan of cars!

Having a snack.

He loves to get in the fridge when I am cooking. This particular day was so priceless. he took out one Red Bull and put in on the floor, then he clapped his hands... took out the second Red Bull and cloapped again. Then one by one he put them back in the fridge and clapped after each one. Just remembering this moment puts a smile on my face.

I am very thankful that Jonathan has been so helpful. We have little "things" we do, like who ever baths Ethan, the other has to do the dishes and get his bedtime bottle ready. I have to give him credit, I could be a bit of a pain in the ass when I am really exhausted and i start snapping orders at him, but I have also learned that I get further with kindness. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am lucky to have him.
Ethan was so thrilled to be on the balcony with daddy.

Ethan put on Jon's hat, of course it was another adorable moment. He loves his daddy.

Another fridge picture... I thought this was priceless, he was trying to drink daddy's beer.

I have so much to write, time has been flying since I've been back to work. ;I caught a glimpse of the calendar today and realized that Ethan will be 13 months tomorrow and I haven't written a blog in ages. For most of you that call regularly the next bit may be repetitive but I am sure the pictures are entertaining.
Somethings never change... this is a familiar scene.

He finds the oddest places to play... and then cries when he hits his head trying to get out or these situations.

Last weekend I was on the computer... Ethan was unusually quiet, which can only mean his is into something. I peaked around the corner and he was eating a sucker... at 8am!

These are the moments I treasure.

Ethan is a little stinker.. He loves to play with the cap for his bottle.. He was walking around the house like this, I had to post this picture.

He stole my pear and decided it was his snack.... then he threw it on the floor and no one got to eat it!

He loves strawberries, he eats them everyday! I don't know what we'll do when they go out of season.

This month Ethan got his first black eye! It sounds morbid but I tried to take a picture, but it didn't show up well enough, so I guess it wasn't that bad of a black eye. My poor boy. His little legs just want to run! I felt so bad, on Thursday May 28 Ethan fell and hit his right cheek on a shelf, he got a bruise in the shape of a straight line! The next day (Friday) he was standing up in the bath tub and slipped. His eye slammed against the tub, giving him a bruise on the outside of his right eyebrow. The next day he fell in his room and hit the exact same spot on his eyebrow and added a little scratch to the bruise. And believe it or not, the next day he fell in the kitchen and got a matching bruise on his left eyebrow. our poor boy, he looked like we beat him up! Since then he seems to be more steady on his feet.
We also experienced the teething day from hell, our daycare lady (Nana) informed me that Ethan had been very cranky and was drooling a lot, key signs to teething. Boy oh boy, we didn't know what we were in for that night. Ethan was so grumpy and screamed and cried all evening, and of course he didn't want to sleep. It looks like his eye teeth are coming down, I wonder how long it will take for them to break through?
We started giving Ethan Cheerios! He is so cute. There are not too many things that this boy doesn't like to eat.
We have been to the park a couple of times a week. Ethan cannot get enough of the swing or the slide. He even slides down on his own.
Ethan is adjusting well to his daycare. when we get there in the mornings he usually reaches out for Nana, or if I put him down, he walks into the house on his own. It is very rare that he cries.
What a little man.
the thing I am getting the biggest kick out of lately is how independent he is. In the morning when we are ready to go I say "Ok Ethan, let's go" and he walks to the door. I open it and he walks into the hallway to the elevator, and points to the button. I lift him up and he presses the button. If Jonathan isn't out of the apartment yet Ethan will walk back to check on daddy. It is so cute. The we all get in the elevator and he stands there just like an adult waiting for the door to open.
Ethan even learned how to lock the car with the remote control. We probably look so silly, after work Ethan holds my keys and continuously presses that lock button until we are out of range, so all you can hear in the car horn beeping as we are walking away, and his eyes just light up as he watches the lights flash over my shoulder.
Today (June 12) is Ethan's last day as a 12 month old! I was lucky enough to only have to work a half day today, so I picked Ethan up from daycare early and we spent the day at the park and went for a nice walk to enjoy the beautiful weather.

1 Year Doctor's Appointment
Ethan had his one year doctor's appointment on Friday May 29. Ethan is now 21lbs. 10oz., which means Ethan is big enough to be forward facing in his car seat! He also got his vaccines. As expected he cried, my poor boy.
Now that Ethan faces forward in his car seat I think he likes the car that much more. He pints out the front window at all the cars, and it is a lot easier to keep an eye on him. I hope this is a benefit when we travel back home now.
