It has been awhile since I have had the opportunity to blog. Ethan and I have had a busy 2 weeks!! I feel like there is so much to write, but at the same time as I hear Ethan’s lullaby music coming from his swing that he is napping in my mind is blank…. What have we been up to?
Road Trip
On Saturday September 6 Ethan and I began the first leg of our road trip back home. We drove to Barrie and spent the night at “Auntie” Melynda’s. I thought it would be a good idea to shave off an hour and a half off of our trip and continue in the morning.
Bright and early Sunday morning Ethan and I left Barrie. He is getting a lot better in the car. He slept from Barrie to Nobel, where we stopped for about 45 minutes for a diaper change, mommy’s breakfast and of course, Ethan’s breakfast too. We headed back out on the road, just the two of us. Ethan was good until about French River… and then he cried and cried and cried some more all the way to Sudbury! So we stopped again and I just walked around with him a bit until he calmed down. He plays with a toy in the car now (a rattle that hangs from his car seat) so he was able to entertain himself until just before Massey where we stopped for a “lunch break” at Cathy’s house. We finally made it to Blind River… in 6 hours… which is good considering we stopped three times.
Visiting Like Crazy!
We arrived in Blind River on Sunday September 7. We were staying at my Aunt Kelly’s (Ethan’s “Great” Aunt).

We spent the next 10 days running around visiting everyone we could squeeze in. We spent time in Iron Bridge visiting Auntie Nancy, Uncle Jason and Trisitin and Bryce.

Auntie Tania and Uncle Rick came to see Ethan too.

Even Ethan’s big cousin Richard (one of the twins) made time to pop in for a visit. We Visited Papa (my dad) too.

I tried to spend as much time with family as possible.
In Blind River we visited Jonathan’s Dad (Grandpa Solomon) and Debbie

as well as Memere (Jonathan’s mom).

My friend Tammy (“Auntie” Tammy) dropped in to meet Ethan,

and we also visited her at home so Drey (Tammy’s son) and Ethan could get acquainted.

Grandpa Solomon invited us for dinner and Ethan got to meet another little boy, Jakob (Debbie’s nephew), what a cutie.
A highlight of my trip was when Ethan met his Great-Great Aunt Freda and Aunt Gisele and Uncle Royal. (unfortunately the pictures I took got erased from my camera).
We did so much visiting our 7 day trip turned into 10! I think my head is still spinning from racing everywhere.
A First Time for Everything
On our little trip Ethan had a few little milestone… I am a first time mom, so bare with me if these “events” seem petty to you.
“Is this mine?”
Ethan discovered his feet! Well, foot, his right foot to be exact. Was changing his diaper and out of the blue he spotted his foot and grabbed it! SO EXCITING!
Big Boy Bath
Ethan also had his first bath in a bathtub! Ethan is too big for a kitchen sink, and I didn’t bring his own bathtub, so Auntie Kelly bathed him in the tub! So cute.
Keeping Up With the Big Kids
Ethan had his first “playing at the park” experience. “Auntie” Tammy and Drey took him down the slide at the park at the tourist information building in Blind River.
Teething
I am convinced that Ethan has officially started to teeth. He tries to chew on everything and anything. He is partial to chewing on fingers, but will settle for a silicone spoon (picture below) What a monkey!

Spoiled Rotten
Our trip back home was an opportunity that Grandpa Solomon and Debbie jumped at to spoil this boy rotten! Not only did they buy his entire summer wardrobe a few months ago, now they have started off his fall wardrobe with a cute tracksuit and nice cozy is jammies. They ever went as far as buying a playpen, car seat, stroller and highchair so Ethan feels comfortable when he visits! SPOILED ROTTEN!
4 MONTHS OLD!

Of course we cannot forget that Ethan celebrated his 4 month birthday on September 13, 2008! I cannot believe that it has already been 4 months. The time is flying. Everyday he is getting stronger. He can lift his head up while on his belly to a 90 degree angle,

he has learned how to play and entertain himself with toys and has started to teeth. Soon he’ll be ready for his jolly jumper! I can’t wait. What will the next month hold? I am so in love!
