Ethan turned 5 months old on Monday October 13, 2008. 5 Months already UNBELIEVABLE!
Ethan’s FIRST Thanksgiving!
Ethan got to celebrate his first holiday with family and friends back home. Ethan and mommy headed back to Blind River/Iron Bridge again on October 8th. We stayed at Aunt Kelly’s house again, she loves having Ethan over.
We spent our first day resting (mommy was very tired from the 6 hour drive). Ethan was PERFECT in the car! We left at 5am and Ethan slept until 7:30am (at which time we arrived in Nobel to eat). He fell back asleep and didn’t wake up again until past Sudbury, he kept himself entertained for the rest of the way, the only peep he made the entire 6 hours was the babbling when he was playing with his toys. Our second day we for a quick zip to Elliot Lake with Aunt Kelly, we stopped at McDonalds.

Later that day we headed to Iron Bridge, we stopped at Papa’s house briefly and gave him his picture of Ethan (the ones we had taken at three months). Then we headed to Aunt Nancy’s and had a nice visit. When the kids got home we headed to the school for the Iron Bridge Public School Open House. It was so nice to visit and see old friends and faces… Ethan spent most of this time sleeping on Aunt Nancy’s shoulder.

Friday we went for a walk and visited Ethan’s Great Great Aunt Freda.

We also visited Grandpa Solomon, Debbie and Uncle Nathan. And we were lucky enough to have daddy’s Uncle Dave and Donna stop in on their way through Blind River. What a lovely visit.

Grandpa and Debbie spoiled Ethan rotten AGAIN! I almost fell over when Debbie showed me all the clothes they bought Ethan, there whole bed in the spare room was COVERED in clothes!!!! S-P-O-I-L-E-D ROTTEN!
Saturday we went for a nice walk with Memere and we had our Thanksgiving dinner at Aunt Kelly’s. Great Grandpa Barrett was there too.

On Sunday in was our big dinner at Aunt Tania’s house. We had so much fun.
We even had a food fight.

Ethan played with his bug cousins Richard, Keith, Tristin and Bryce. And Aunt Nancy, Aunt Tania and Papa couldn’t get enough of him.

Monday Ethan celebrated his 5 months milestone with Memere. Ethan loves playing with Memere.

Tuesday we did a lot of walking. I love getting Ethan out for fresh air. After dinner we had a quick visit with Grandpa and Debbie.

When we got back to Aunt Kelly’s Ethan seemed to be not feeling well. He hadn’t had a bowel movement in four days and he had vomited twice in 30 minutes. Being the worried new mommy that I am I decided top bring Ethan to Emerg. Luckily the doctor gave Ethan a clean bill of health, apparently you don’t have to worry about constipation until 7 days pass and with Ethan eating cereal now it will take longer to digest.
Wednesday we headed back to Oakville, once again we had a great trip. Ethan is so good in the car. And he had a HUGE poop when we got home. When I changed his diaper the little bugger kicked so much that he got it all over his feet, up his legs on his hands… and of course being the little thumb sucker… a little bit on his face! I would attach the picture that I took to show Jon, but I’ll spare you the poop picture.

Looks like Ethan is very well-loved!! ! Your "bowel movement" dilemna reminded me of my situation . (Amazing when you have babies it's all of a sudden okay to talk about poop? lol.) Anyways, every baby is different, but for us, Alyssa won't "fill her diaper" when we go out all day. So if we are out for a few days in a row all day every day, it causes problems and we have to stay at home until she relieves herself. Sounds crazy, but we had a trip to emerg because she was in so much pain because she skipped too many days. Anyways, not sure if there are any similarities but thought I would share with you my experience just in case, cause it took us awhile to figure out what was wrong.
